From the month of November, HTC will make available in India its two new smartphones called the Desire 820 and the Desire 820q. The Company has also introduced the 3G-only variant of HTC Desire 816, namely the Desire 816G that has been priced at Rs. 18,990.
The Desire 816G would be available in Indian markets from the month of October. The Company lifted the wraps off these smartphones at a pre-IFA 2014 event.
Specific features of HTC Desire 820:
It’s a dual SIM phone and flaunts a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor powered by integrated 4G LTE Cat 4 support along with 2GB RAM. It is based on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS and carries a 5.5-inch HD screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution.
It has a powerful 13 MP rear camera onboard that comes with BSI sensor and LED flash and an 8MP front camera. The internal storage capacity is 16GB that can further be extended up to 128 GB using microSD card.
The various connectivity options include Bluetooth, GP/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi, FM radio, 3G, 4G LTE and GPRS/ EDGE. The dimensions of the smartphone are 157.7 x 78.74 x 7.74 mm and its weight is 155 grams.
The capacity of its battery is 2600 mAh which can support up to 22.4 hours of 3G usage and 424 hours of idle time.
The handset supports HTC’s Dot View case which enables quick access to your device without opening the cover.
The HTC Desire 820q:
This handset comes with dual SIM (Nano SIM) support and has features similar to the HTC Desire 820, however packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM.
The HTC Desire 816G:
This smartphone has features identical to the HTC Desire 816 that was introduced in India in April priced at 23,990, except the LTE support that’s not present is HTC Desire 816G.
Another difference is the 1.3GHz quad-core processor found in Desire 816G as compared to the faster 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor of Desire 816.
The Company has not yet revealed the prices of the HTC Desire 820 and Desire 820q.
