Google Play Allows Users To Pre-Register for Apps and Games !

Google Play has come up with an interesting pre-booking option for upcoming apps that lets the user to sign-up for such apps and games, ahead of their official release.

A ‘pre-register’ button is displayed on the page of such apps and games, listed on the Google Play Store. Interested buyers need to tap this option in order to get notifications regarding the availability of these apps and games for download or purchase in future.

The ‘Terminator Genisys: Revolution, by Glu Mobile, is the first app in the appstore to display this button. This gaming app is the official game of the movie with the same name. The movie is slated for release in theatres, in early June. Expectedly, this app will be available for download or to purchase, during the same period.

This highly-anticipated game’s description, states, “The year is 2028 and humanity is on the brink of extinction. Help John Connor in the war to save the human race in the official game of the new movie Terminator Genisys. Escape from the Skynet prison camp and fight the machines in this action-packed sci-fi shooter!”

With this new development in Google Play, the application publishers and developers can now tag their apps for ‘pre-registration on the app store, prior to their official release.

According to industry sources, Google plans to introduce better user privacy controls for all Android users to enable them to restrict an installed app from accessing any information on their devices or from the cloud storage, including contacts, camera photos, and location details.
