Indian Phone manufacturer, Jivi has entered into the smartphone market by introducing its first smartphone called the JSP 20 at a very affordable price of Rs. 1,999. It would be solely available on Amazon.in
The Company claims this is the most economical Android based smartphone available in India yet and their aim is to make it affordable for the masses.
The Company’s CEO, Pankaj Anand has stated that they want people to own a fine quality smartphone without putting too much burden on their pockets. Jivi has kept a very low profit margin by bringing in this smartphone at this cost. He further stated that the Company is planning to launch newer smartphones with Android KitKat OS soon.
It sports a 3.5-inch screen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution and runs the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz processor coupled with 128 MB RAM. It has an inbuilt storage capacity of 256 MB which can further be enhanced to 32 GB using microSD card.
It packs a battery of 1350 mAh capacity and has a 2 MP rear camera with flash onboard.
The CEO further stated their move harmonizes well with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Digital India Initiative. The company is hoping to sell approximately 200,000 units of the smartphone.
