Oppo has unveiled its latest budget smartphone, the Neo 5, to be introduced in Malaysia. It can be purchased next week onwards in Malaysia. It is still not clear whether the smartphone will be launched in rest of the countries including India.
Although, the company has not yet listed the smartphone’s price on its website, still as per sources, it would be available at MYR 598 (approximately Rs. 11,500).
The Oppo Neo 5 is based on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. It comes with the Company’s very own ColorOS covering on the top. It carries LTE support which serves to be the major point of attraction with the smartphone considering the price. The handset sports a 4.5-inch screen coupled with FWVGA IPS display and 480 x 854 pixels screen resolution. The pixel density is reported to be 218 ppi.
The inbuilt processor is 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm snapdragon 400 supported by 1GB RAM. Its storage capacity is 4 GB which can be further enhanced up to 32 GB using microSD card. The rear camera quality is 5MP with LED flash powered by BSI CMOS sensor. The smartphone also houses a 2MP front facing camera.
Connectivity options and battery size:
The device supports Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, Micro-USB, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, 4G LTE and Bluetooth. The capacity of inbuilt battery is 1900 mAh. The dimensions of the smartphone are 132 x 65.8 x 9.2 mm and its weight is 132.5 grams.
Off late, Oppo, the Chinese manufacturer has also introduced the N1 Mini in India costing Rs. 26,990.
