Roccat is launching a new hybrid technology that integrates keyboard with a smartphone named as the Skeltr. At present, it is being displayed at the Gamescom. With the help of skeltr keyboard and nyth mouse, users can now have a mutual interaction with their game.
The smartphone is connected to the keyboard & the mouse via Bluetooth with the help of a sliding rail carrying a movable holster, through it can fit a smartphone or tablet of varying sizes. Another screen will allow normal smartphone usage including making and receiving calls and sending text messages via keyboard.
One can either program applications using ROCCAT application language or the Android/ iOS and gain access to popular games. As compared to the Logitech G15, which was not used much due to unavailability of apps, the skeltr certainly promises to be a step ahead of the initial launches because of its vibrant colour display and effortless interaction.
Prototypes of this hybrid technology can be seen on Gamescom, however the release date and pricing structure would be declared towards the end of the year.
