Sony unveils Xperia M2 Aqua, Waterproof Smartphone

Sony has launched its inaugural mid-range smartphone called the Xperia M2 Aqua exclaiming ‘Waterproof smartphone for all’. It would be soon available for purchase in India, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The company has declared it to have the maximum dust and water proof rating which is IP65/68. It can endure water immersion up to 1 meter.

Price in India:
Although, the Company has not disclosed the price as yet, however as per reviews it could be bought at approximately Rs. 21, 999.

Special features:
It sports a capacitive touch screen of 4.8 inches powered by qHD display and a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The inbuilt processor is 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 coupled with 1GB RAM. The storage capacity is 8GB which can further be enhanced up to 32 GB using microSD card. The Xperia M2 Aqua has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3 MP front facing camera ideal for selfies and video calling.

The operating system is the latest Android 4.4 kitKat. The thickness of the smartphone is 8.6 mm and its weight is 149 grams.

Battery and connectivity options:
The battery capacity is 2300 mAh and the device supports Bluetooth, 4G LTE, GLONASS, Wi-Fi, NFC, DLNA, ANT+ and GPS/ A-GPS. The colour variants available are Black, White and Purple.
