The device would start selling from September 2nd via Xiaomi’s online retail partner Flipkart and consumers would be required to register it on Flipkart post 6 pm IST on Tuesday.
The dual SIM (Regular-SIM) device sports an IPS-LCD display of 4.7 inches with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The screen is protected via AGC Dragontrail glass and the smartphone is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. Xiaomi has assured that the OS would be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat powered by MIUI v6 by year end.
The device packs a 1.6GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor supported by Adreno 305 GPU. The capacity of its RAM is 1GB and internal storage capacity is 8GB further expandable up to 32 GB using microSD card.
The rear autofocus camera is 8MP with flash and the front facing camera is 1.6 MP ideal for selfies and video calling. The various connectivity options include Micro-USB, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, direct and hotspot capability, USB and OTG.
The power of the battery is 2000mAh and the smartphone measures 137 x 69 x 9.9 mm. It weighs 158 grams.

The matte and clear screen protectors can be purchased at Rs. 179. The flip cover is priced Rs. 559 whereas the different coloured back covers would cost Rs. 459 and the Silica Gel cover can be bought at Rs. 359.
It indeed arouses interest to see if this smartphone also goes out-of-stock just like Xiaomi Mi3 considering its affordable price range.
